Study Abroad
Faculty affiliated with Latin American & Caribbean Studies bring students on off-campus study programs on a regular basis. These enriching experiences are great ways to meet people from other parts of Las Américas and to learn on-site. Some current and recent study abroad sites have included:
- Havana, Cuba
- Give back with service learning study abroad in Chile or Costa Rica
- Study agriculture and conservation in several countries in Central America with faculty from the Smith Center for International Sustainable Agriculture
- Direct Exchange opportunities and Third Party Programs in consultation with the Programs Abroad office at UT.
Experience Learning
Latin American and Caribbean studies majors and minors have experiential learning opportunities through off-campus service learning experiences at locations in and around Knoxville. Some students engage in service learning by connecting with Latin American and Caribbean community members in the public school and health care systems.
